Corporate Social Responsibility

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AT CIMPRESS

Above and beyond compliance with applicable laws and regulations, we expect all parts of Cimpress to conduct business in a socially responsible, ethical manner that continues to make team members proud of our collective actions.

Protecting the Environment

WE REGULARLY EVALUATE WAYS TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF OUR OPERATIONS AND PRODUCTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT.

Carbon Emission Reduction

We have established and centrally fund a company-wide carbon pollution emissions reduction program to lower emissions at a rate in line with – or better than – science-based targets established in 2015 by the United Nations Global Compact (the “Paris Climate Accord”). Our plan includes investment in energy-reducing infrastructure and equipment and renewable energy sourcing. In 2017 we reduced our carbon intensity per million USD of revenue by 12%.

Sustainably Sourced Paper

Over 85% of the paper we print on in our production facilities is certified as being responsibly forested. We are actively working with an international organization committed to promoting the practice of responsible forestry worldwide. We are committed to increasing the ratio of sustainably sourced paper we use and expanding this practice to the vast majority of paper that is used by sub-contracting print partners.

Sustainable Facilities

We strive to build sustainable facilities so that our operations have a reduced, or neutral, impact on the environment. We are committed to employing green technologies in new construction, as well as retrofitting older buildings where possible. Our production facilities maximize recycling opportunities for all waste substrates and consumables.

Caring for Team Members

OUR TEAM MEMBERS ARE THE HEART OF OUR COMPANY. IT IS IMPORTANT TO US THAT OUR COMPENSATION AND LABOR PRACTICES ARE FAIR AND OUR WORK ENVIRONMENTS ARE RESPECTFUL, SAFE, DIVERSE, INCLUSIVE AND FAMILY-SUPPORTIVE.

Safety

We do not tolerate unsafe conditions that may endanger team members or other parties. We require training on – and compliance with – safe work practices and procedures at all manufacturing facilities to ensure the safety of team members and visitors to our plant floors. We regularly run training and safety drills in our office locations.

Fair Labor Practices

We make recruiting, retention, and other performance management related decisions based solely on merit and other organizational needs and considerations, such as an individual’s ability to do their job with excellence and in alignment with the company’s strategic and operational objectives. We do not tolerate discrimination on any basis protected by human rights laws or anti-discrimination regulations, and we strive to do more in this regard than the law requires.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to a work environment where team members are treated with respect and fairness. We value individual differences, unique perspectives and the distinct contributions that each one of us can make to the company. We are a nationally diverse global company which acts as a positive force for international exchange, and understanding. We support existing internal diversity groups like Women In Technology and PRIDE, our employee resource group for gender and sexual diversity; and encourage our team members to form new groups as they see fit.

Supporting our Local Communities

With over 11,000 team members and offices in more than 40 local communities around the world, our potential to make a positive impact is significant. We encourage team members to participate in meaningful opportunities that support local communities and social change. We see examples of the great work done by our team members every month, from charity contributions and fundraisers to blood drives to broad participation in World Environment Day.

Ensuring an Ethical Supply Chain

It is important to us that our entire supply chain reflects our commitment to doing business with the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Each Cimpress business ensures its supply chain does not allow for unacceptable practices such as environmental crimes, child labor, slavery or unsafe working conditions. Please refer to the social responsibility reports section and processes for more details, including our supplier code of conduct, compliance with the UK anti-slavery act and our supply chain transparency disclosure.
